The imposing alpine landscape above Bayrischzell is one of the largest contiguous ski areas in Germany. Here perfect skiing and snowboarding days await parents, kids and teens, thanks to the perfectly-groomed spacious slopes, guaranteeing pure skiing pleasure for all levels of ability. A popular highlight is the Action World with snow park, which always thrill active teenagers.

Near the lift entrances, 2,100 cleared, free parking spaces are available for mountain railway customers (a parking fee of € 15.00 applies for non-customers). A free ski bus runs from Bayrischzell to the Sudelfeld ski area. As a guest at Das Bayrischzell Familotel, you can simply hop on the ski bus with your children to the lift station without having to worry about how to get there. Even by car it is only an 8-minute drive from our family hotel to the valley station. This close proximity to the ski slopes is a great advantage, especially on a ski holiday with children, as it ensures children and parents arrive on the slopes relaxed.

Wendelstein ski area

The Wendelstein is an insider tip for freeriders and off-piste skiers. You could call it the 'Chamonix of Upper Bavaria'! And once you get off the gondola or the rack railway, you'll see why. The fun starts with the Hotalehang run, a short black run – it's best not to think about it too long and head straight down the steep terrain! The 5 km-long, medium-difficult red West run takes you past the Mountain Rescue Hut, via the Wendelsteiner-Almen down to the cable car valley station in Osterhofen-Bayrischzell.

Mt. Wendelstein is popular with skiers in winter due to its exciting ski runs, high alpine natural snow landscape and breathtaking views. This small, but beautiful ski area has a long skiing history that started with the first ski enthusiasts more than 100 years ago.

The beautiful ski area offers skiers and snowboarders fun, action and adventure. Non-skiers can also enjoy the alpine atmosphere and views with a ride to the top on the cable car or rack railway. If you plan to ski on Mt. Wendelstein, you are guaranteed to have lots of skiing fun.

A good ski suit, ski helmet and warm ski gloves are a must for children! If children start to freeze on the slopes, it can quickly spoil the day's skiing. Make sure you have good sun protection, because the mountain sun is strong even in winter. You can bring drinks and small snacks in a backpack.
